Ja godīgi, man reti kad patīk modes lapas Latvijas žurnālos. Nu, lūk, tieši tāpēc es ļoti sapriecājos, kad jaunākajā Veto ieraudzīju kko tādu kas man patiesi patīk. Bez tam jūnija (vasaras) numura un kažokādu savienojums iespējams šķiet tikai Latvijā!

To be totally honest it's very rare that I love editorials in Latvian magazines. So, I was happy to finally see fashion pages in Veto that I really loved! Besides I guess only in Latvia you'd see fur in June issue. So cool!

sea of talents

Šobrīd Dekoratīvās mākslas un dizaina muzejā ir redzama īsā izstāde (īsā, jo beigsies jau nākamajā svētdienā!) Talantu jūra. Izstadē ir apskatāmi slavenāku un ne tik slavenu Latvijas dizaineru tērpi. Tā kā es nespēju būt objektīva, tad teikšu kā domāju - Elīnas kleita izstādē ir vislabākā! Un liek ar vēl lielāku nepacietību gaidīt LMA skates 30., 31. maijā.

At the moment there's an exhibition Sea of Talents in the Museum of Applied Art and Design of the contemporary fashion designers of Latvia. I won't and can't be objective and say how it is - dress by Elīna Siliņa is the best! OK, I'm totally biased as I've known her for a while now and at the moment she's my next door neighbor but hell - her dress is amazing!

Jo mazāk es iepērkos, jo mazāk man gribas blogot. Šī gada apņemšanās es pildu uz urrā - šī gada 4 mēnešos es savu garderobi esmu papildinijusi tikai ar kādiem 7 objektiem, esmu pierakstījusi katru savu izdevumu santīmu un esmu atbrīvojusies no visa liekā. Neslikti. Bet blogošana no tā cieš. Tā ir - nevar gribēt visu un uzreiz.

The less I shop, the less I blog. I've been very good with fulfilling my New Year's resolutions - I've added only 7 items to my wardrobe in these 4 months, I've written down every cent I've spent and I've purged my closet, my cupboards, my everything. Not bad. But there are consequences - I blog less. But you can't get everything and now!

"Es esmu par garu, lai nēsātu īsus svārkus ar augstiem papāžiem." Bez tam - nākamos pāris mēnešus es tik un tā esmu piekalta zempapēžiem. Kgan ja godīgi man nemaz nav žēl, jo kā nekā kopš janvāra man ir zemais režīms un man tas tīri labi patīk.

"I'm too tall to wear short skirts with high heels." Besides for the next couple of months I'm stuck wearing flats anyway. But I sort of like it or maybe I've just forgotten how it is, how it feels to wear heels. No regrets as I can walk on my tiptoes again and I can run and dance. What more could a girl wish for?!

Filmas ir mans visbiežākais iedvesmas avots, jo ir taču tik viegli bildīti paņemt un pārnest dzīvē. Un ņemot vērā manis patērēto vizuālo stimulatoru daudzumus, nav nekāds brīnums, ka atkal un atkal pieķeru sevi pie domas, ka šodien gribu ģērbties, ka viens vai otrs filmas varonis. Žēl, ka mīmika, žesti, valodas temps un tembrs tik ilgi nepaliek operatīvajā atmiņā. Bet, nu, jā, man patīk tēlus izdzīvot arī vēl pēc filmas beigu titriem.
Tad, nu, lūk, Mājkalpotāja kļuva par manu kārtējo iedvesmas avotu. Un precīzāk – 5 gadīgā meitene vārdā Nami. Viņa ģērbjas (tiek ģērbta) kā pieaugušais. Smieklīgi, bet fakts – mani iedvesmoja meitene, kas ģērbjas kā lielais.
Un es neko vairāk neteikšu par filmu, tikai to, ka iesaku to noskatīties.

Movies are said to be the most common source of inspiration. And taking in the consideration the amount of films I consume it’s not surprising I often find myself wanting to dress like one of the characters. It’s a pity that facial expressions, gestures, movements, the pace and the tone of language disappears so quickly, it stays only for couple of hours. But, yeah, I love to hang on to the characters I associate with.
So the latest source of my inspiration was Hanyo. And more precisely – 5 year old girl named Nami. She was emulating grown ups so perfectly. But, yeah, I was inspired by the girl who dresses (is dressed) like a grown up.
If you have a chance I recommend seeing the movie. It’s good. Really good!

And I just wanted to add my favorite quote by Nami: “I learned that from father. He said to treat people politely. It may seem like a sign of respect, but it’s really putting myself first.”

Acne Paper Body issue

I love, love, love receiving shipments by courier, it makes me feel I'm receiving a birthday present every single time. After the Grand-Scandinavian tour - Stockholm via Copenhagen via Helsinki via Tallinn it finally arrived home (you can see the whole trip here, I'm still wondering why it wasn't shipped straight over the sea?). It's the largest magazine I've ever seen! And there are so many amazing articles to read.
